$5000 Contest!

The Dream Big Grow Here grant contest is an opportunity for Iowans to fulfill their dreams of self-employment or expansion of their current firm.  Entrants compete online for a chance to win a $5,000 regional grant, and then become eligible to compete for a chance to win a $10,000 grand prize. The Process

  1. Submit Your Dream BEFORE January 31st  
  2. Compete Online for Votes or be Selected to Advance (See Pro Tip #3)
  3. Get Selected to Pitch for $5,000
  4. Go on to compete for a $10,000 grand prize!

Pro Tips

  • Don't worry about picking the wrong industry contest, we can always move you to the correct one if needed.
  • Your Dream entry can be saved and edited at a later time both before you submit, and after you become approved.
  • Top online vote recipient in each industry receives an automatic pass to pitch for the $5,000 business grant. Four other finalists for each Industry Contest will be selected based on the quality of their business Dream application.
  • Receive expert feedback on your entry if you apply before the end of the day on Friday, January 23rd!
  • Some dreams, depending on your location, may be eligible for even more money. If your business is located in the western part of the state, you might be able to enter into an additional regional contest. Who doesn't love more money?!
