1 Carpenter's Hands recycles tress and logs, that would be destroyed, into quality, unique and beautiful lumber to be sold and used in making useful wood products.
We have a band saw mill and we take trees and logs people have cut down and would take to a tree dump or burn or bury, and cut those logs into useful and quality lumber. The lumber is then dried in our kiln and sold to customers in our area. Our saw mill is portable and we are able to do custom saw milling by travelling to meet customers where they are to mill the lumber they are requesting.
There are others with saw mills in the area, but they don't do the custom saw milling like 1 Carpenter's Hands does and they don't travel with their saw mills like we are capable and willing to do.
1 Carpenter's Hands is very small right now, with just me as the owner and my husband helps out many hours doing the heavy lifting and heavy jobs. We are not able to compete with big lumber yards, but we can provide quality lumber that has been taken care of by hand. We are able to provide differing lumbers not usually seen in lumber yards. In the future we would are looking to grow to employ my husband and others full time.
As a small business our funds are very limited and in order for 1 Carpenter's Hands to do the work we have done so far, everything has been paid for out of our own personal funds, and we would like to have a little kick start to purchase things that would helps 1 Carpenter's Hands be more effective and efficient. We would use the money to purchase a blade sharpener and tooth setter, so the band saw blades could be reused and not sent away creating more expense.
