We are a specialty cut flower farm in Sac County, Iowa.
We are the only cut flower farm located in Sac County, Iowa and the surrounding counties. Slow foods has been a term used to describe locally grown food products and "Slow Flowers," similarly, was first used by Debra Prinzing (Author and Host of The Slow Flowers Podcast) to highlight American Grown Flowers. Many flowers (around 80%) used by florists and purchased in grocery stores are flown into the United States from other countries. Because the majority of flowers have traveled many miles before reaching their intended customer, they may not last as long in the vase, sometimes contain chemical residues, and lack the brightness that is seen from a freshly cut stem. Our goal is to serve our local and surrounding communities with beautiful and seasonable flowers and foliage for all of life's moments. Our plans for producing income for the business includes selling market bouquets at farmer's markets, floral arrangements, DIY flower buckets and wholesale to grocery stores and local florists. I will also be cooperating with Phocas Gardens of Sac City, IA to provide classes to the public on arranging locally grown cut flowers.
