Spencer Convenient Healthcare is a medical clinic that opened in November 2012. It is owned and operated by a Family Nurse Practitioner. Our mission is to promote the health and well-being of the area population by providing accessible, affordable, high quality medical care for people of all ages. We are committed to providing services that will exceed the expectations of our patients, resulting in a successful and profitable business. We enjoy giving back to the community through services, donations and local sponsorships.
In order to meet the needs of the community and area population, we will provide medical care by appointment as well as walk in services with extended hours and weekend coverage. This clinic has helped reduce the use of emergency services for non-emergent situations which prevents the drain on valuable resources for everyone. Our services included treatment for minor illness and injury, wellness physicals and limited chronic disease management focusing on health promotion, wellness and disease prevention.
Since the opening of the clinic in November 2012, the need for convenient healthcare in NW Iowa has been obvious. In less than a year, we have gone from 1 clinic in Spencer with 3 employees to the opening of a 2nd location, Lakes Convenient Healthcare in Spirit Lake, and now have grown to 11 employees.
We are applying because the cost of our growth has taken a lot of our resources. Even though the clinic at the lakes has helped take some pressure off of the Spencer Clinic, the fact is our clinic in Spencer, has been so embraced by the community, we have outgrown our space.
If we were to win this money, it would help many people. We would like to expand and add an additional exam room as well as expansion of the lab and storage areas. Our dream of providing patients with accessible, affordable, high quality healthcare has already come true, but many days we have patients that would benefit even more if we had just one more exam room to grow into. We spend time with our patients providing education so they can make well informed healthcare decisions. Nurse Practitioners functions from a holistic wellness perspective. We want to enable patients to have a full understanding of their individual health situations and how they can do their part to prevent future illness, injury, and disease. With the additional space, we can continue to improve and provide the best healthcare in the most "convenient" manner to our patients.
