Harvestville Farm is a 3 season farm located 1 mile east of Donnellson, IA and best known for our Fall Agri-tourism and squash and pumpkin production. During the summer months we sell fresh fruits and vegetables from our retail building. We have a total of about 40 acres in seasonal vegetable production. Besides growing our own produce, we have partnered with a number of local farmers to offer our customers the best selection of fresh locally grown products. We are applying for this grant to help expand our local food hub by constructing a small new facility with a walk-in cooler and certified kitchen. With this new construction we will have the ability to increase our customer base by offering seasonal farm dinners and other local food events that meet new state health department regulations. We will be able to integrate new local farmers into our operation that raise beef, pork, and poultry, and process some of our seasonal vegetables for extended season sales and farm dinner events.
